Christopher A. Brown

Christopher A. Brown is an assurance and advisory business (AABS) partner in the New York office of Mitchell & Titus, a member firm of Ernst & Young Global Limited. He also serves on the firm’s Executive Committee. Chris has more than 20 years of experience serving real estate, private equity, financial services, and asset management firms, with a specific focus on financial statement audits, accounting advisory, risk management, regulatory compliance, and business performance improvement. He is a certified public accountant in various states.

Currently, Chris serves as market leader for the firm’s Commercial Services Practice. He also serves as professional practice director on the firm’s Quality Control Committee. Chris’ clients include institutional investors, pension funds, private equity funds, real estate companies, financial institutions and privately-owned emerging businesses. He also has extensive experience assisting large corporations with meeting regulatory and financial reporting requirements, including the enhancement of internal controls. Prior to joining Mitchell & Titus, Chris spent 13 years within Arthur Andersen’s Financial Markets and Real Estate Services Groups.

Chris earned his Bachelor of Business Administration from Baruch College, City University of New York. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA). He previously served on the SEC and Real Estate Practice Committees of the NYSSCPA. Chris is the board president of Young Audiences New York, an arts education service provider to the New York City Department of Education and a former member of Clear Channel’s Local Advisory Board of New York.
